Most economics degrees are not run by business schools but by university departments of economics. However, some business schools have teamed up with other academic departments to jointly offer master’s degrees in economics, or dual degrees in related fields such as finance.
These programs will focus on the core components of economic theory, macroeconomics, and econometrics. It’s a broad curriculum of studies, ranging from food and agricultural economics to environmental energy and resource economics, and international development economics, along with trade and politics.
Often, these programs require a quantitative or economics background but plenty of the degree courses admit students from non-traditional backgrounds provided they can demonstrate technical abilities in the application process.
